  • Riviera Seafood Club's Kabayaki Unagi, also known as Barbecue Eel Sushi, is wild-caught in the oceans off of China. With every bite your taste buds are presented with a sweet and rich flavor, complemented by a buttery and delicate texture. Kabayaki Unagi, called simply Unagi in Japanese, is prepared as a filet.

    Our BBQ Eel Sushi is pre-cooked and marinated to perfection with sweet and smoky notes and a light, delicate texture. Riviera's Unagi is of the highest quality, excellent for sushi dishes.

    Kabayaki Unagi, scientifically named Anguilla japonica, will arrive frozen and must be thawed and reheated before consumption. Each ten ounce filet is individually packaged, frozen, and shipped using overnight express delivery. It will be delivered to your table in two days (one day for processing, one day for delivery).

Great tasting Unagi

I use this Unagi from Rivera to make Nigiri and maki rolls. Great tasting and easy to prepare. Just heat it up in the microwave or toaster oven.

We really like this Unagi, it’s perfect for making an Unagi rice bowl. Seems a bit thin for nigiri.

In the past, I lived in big cities, Washington, DC and Denver, where unagi was available in Asian stores or restaurants. Today, I live in a small town, 4 hours south of Denver, where seafood, let alone unagi, is a rarity. I am so happy that Riviera SC has made it available for shipping. The package with the unagi arrived intact and still frozen. I will definitely order again when I ran out. Thank you for satisfying my craving without my having to drive 4 hours.

Flash frozen

The best sushi. Flash frozen is fantastic. I use to buy it unfrozen however with slow delivery and the product sitting on the back of a hot van, it’s freshness was in question. I will never buy it again. Flash frozen is the way to go.
