Fresh Salmon Croquette

Fresh Salmon Croquette

Salmon croquettes are a delicious and easy-to-make dish that can be enjoyed for breakfast, lunch, or dinner with the beauty of salmon croquettes being that they're extremely versatile and can be made with a variety of ingredients. Some recipes call for breadcrumbs, eggs, and mayonnaise, while others include vegetables like onions, celery, and bell peppers. You can also add herbs and spices to give them extra flavor.

Secondary to that is salmon croquettes are a healthy option. Salmon is a great source of protein, omega-3 fatty acids, and other essential nutrients. When combined with other ingredients like vegetables and breadcrumbs, it makes for a well-rounded meal.

We highly recommend using fresh salmon rather than canned salmon, which you can bake or grill before flaking into small pieces. If you're looking to experiment with salmon croquettes, try adding different ingredients to the mix. For example, you could add diced jalapeños for some heat, or use panko breadcrumbs for extra crunch. You could also substitute the mayonnaise for Greek yogurt or sour cream for a lighter version.

Overall, salmon croquettes are a delicious and healthy dish that can be enjoyed in a variety of ways. They're easy to make and can be customized to suit your taste preferences. Whether you're looking for a quick and easy meal or a tasty appetizer, salmon croquettes are sure to be a hit.

  • 1/4 cup finely chopped celery
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped red bell pepper
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

  3. Bake the salmon for 12-15 minutes, or until it is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.
  4. Let the salmon cool for a few minutes, then use a fork to flake it into small pieces.
  5. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flaked salmon, onion, celery, red bell pepper, mayonnaise, beaten egg, breadcrumbs, parsley, Old Bay seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Mix well to combine.
  6. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  7. Using your hands or a cookie scoop, form the salmon mixture into small patties or balls, about 2-3 inches in diameter.
  8. Gently place the salmon croquettes into the hot oil and fry for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until they are golden brown and crispy.
  9. Use a slotted spoon to transfer the croquettes to a paper towel-lined plate to drain off any excess oil.
  10. Serve the salmon croquettes hot, garnished with additional chopped parsley, if desired.
