Pacu is a unique fish raised in the post-harvest rice fields of the Paraná River system. As an omnivorous cousin of the piranha, Pacu feeds on leftover rice stalks, making it an incredibly sustainable option for our planet. Not only is it environmentally friendly, but it also has a clean, mild taste with a firm, flaky texture that’s easy to love. Plus, its naturally high-fat content keeps the meat juicy and flavorful.

Time your defrost process to a couple of hours before your meal for the optimal outcome.

Yes and no. Yes, you can refreeze it for a future cooking preparation. No, if you plan on using it for raw preparation.

Yes! We suggest that most super-frozen products may be stored in a conventional freezer for up to 2 months upon usage.

delicious fatty white fish!!

Pacu is an underdog, especially priced this reasonably! the fat content alone makes it a star. very versatile flavor and texture. i made fish piccata and beer battered fish tacos with it.
the pacu was able to absorb the piccata sauce while infusing a rich fat back into it. I highly recommend this fish to feed a large group or to stock up on & feed yourself without breaking the bank!

Fresh, tasty, and great for blackening.

I'm a huge fan of Cajun cooking, especially blackened and pan fried fish. Pacu is perfect for these styles. The fish is already very creamy and buttery when cooked normally, but fry it in butter on cast iron after giving it a liberal helping of Blackened Redfish Magic, and holy wow. It's like being transported to the deep south, only instead of bottom feeding trash fish like catfish, we have the plant eating cousin of the piraña.

The batch I received was extremely fresh, with not even a bit of bad fishy smell after the defrost. No bones of note found in the fillets. Skin was properly descaled and had a very nice thin layer of fat. Phenomenal.

I'll buy it again.
